Camp Rising Sun's youth camp is designed for children ages 8-13 with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Typically-developing children (those without autism) may apply to attend camp serving as peer models. Campers wishing to attend camp must turn 8 by the first day of camp. Applications are due via U.S. postal service no later than April 1, 2010. Counselors-in-Training are individuals who seek leadership opportunities and desire to enrich the lives of children living with autism. To be eligible to be a CIT, individuals must be 16 or 17 years of age by the first day of camp. Camp Rising Sun encourages both typically-developing individuals and those with autsim to apply for these positions. In addition to filling out the application and securing a letter of recommendation, all applicants will participate in an interview as part of our selection process.
